Compliance training helps us understand the legal context within which we work.
It's important to understand your legal obligations in order to help lead by example and act with care in the workplace. Compliance training helps educate staff on the laws, regulations and codes in relation to their role and the organisation and it
demonstrates to regulators, accrediting organisations and the community that your organisation takes compliance very seriously and you hold yourself accountable for your actions and behaviour in the workplace and as an organisation.
Depending on your industry, there may be different pieces of key legislation that your organisation must comply with. You may be required to show all staff (existing and new) are able and have undertaken compliance training.
Regardless of industry, a common compliance course is Code of Conduct. This helps in understanding and acknowledging what behaviour is acceptable, and conversely not acceptable.
Compliance with the Health and Safety Act. This helps in ensuring staff are compliance through their understanding of important safety measures and practices and contributing to the prevention of injury in the workplace.
Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination legislation promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Discrimination can be direct or
indirect or subtle and its important to understand and be aware of these areas to prevent discrimination in the workplace.
These are just some of many areas that compliance training can help your organisation overcome and enhance for your staff and workplace.
