With a crane lift permit, you might assess the following fields:

- Task Description
- Specific Location of Work
- Plant and equipment to be used
- Precautions to be taken
- Training and Competency
- Access
- I am sufficiently competent to carry out lead oversee the works
- All tradespersons have the required licenses to applicable to their job
- All actions and conditions necessary for safe work will be performed
- The JSA lists the names of all persons involved and is job specific
- All works will be in accordance with JSA
- I will ensure a prestart is completed on all lifting equipment prior to conducting any lifts
- I have observed the workplace areas where the crane will operate and put in adequate controls to minimise vehicle pedestrian interaction and adequate clearance near fixed structures
- I have inspected the workplace to ensure i am not operating a crane within 6m of any high voltage powerlines
