Accident and Emergencies

On discovery of an emergency or a potential emergency, the following suggested action should be taken. The person in control must make an assessment of the situation at the time and take appropriate action:

1. Shutdown equipment
2. Raise the alarm (eg shout fire, fire, fire)
3. Clear the public and all personnel away from the immediate area (Avoid inducing panic)
4. Contact emergency services on triple "0" (000)
5. Decide whether you can limit damage or whether you should fully evacuate.

Move all people including visitors and members of the public to assembly area, account for all persons, evacuate/warn neighbours if necessary.
