The process for onboarding your staff all starts with their initial induction.
It's a great opportunity to put as many Human Resources and Safety materials in place for your staff member or contractor to progress through in an online format before they start working in their job role.
Common items you might include could be:
Collecting licenses or training information
Collecting next of kin, who to contact in an emergency, allergies or medical details
Presenting your content such as a general induction, safety induction, site specific content or a HR induction
Testing their knowledge through competency assessments
Ensure their ongoing re-induction through ongoing reminders for new materials and re-training
Onboarding is an important part of your organisation, you need to get across important messages about the organisation's policies and procdures, safety, test the inductee on their knowledge and issue them a formal recognition of their completion. You can also set a reminder for the refresher onboarding course to take place (typically in 12 months time).
