Always Induct Your Staff

There was a case recently where it was found that an induction hadn't been done in relation to what eventuated into a workplace death.

It only takes a few moments to have someone quickly inducted on their phone using the Induction app.

In the R v Watts case, item 37:

"the offender had not previously attended the construction site, he required the mandatory safety induction. The offender himself requested a site induction. However, none was undertaken."

This risk could have been easily eliminated if they had been able to do the site induction from their phone, on the spot, while either arriving on site, on their way to site or before they were asked to come in.

There should never be a case where someone is coming in to your workplace without a safety induction being done.
