Online Induction >> Onboarding Program
The following describes a typical scenario for inducting a new staff member After an interview for a new position at the office, the staff member is rung to be informed they are successful in achieving the position. They are then told to go to the organisations website to complete the Online Induction process for new staff in their own time. The new employee later that day goes to the website address given to them over the phone and clicks on the Online Induction link.
Here they see the account registration link and click through the form to enter in their details and request a login. Shortly after this process they receive an SMS with their username and password. The new employee then goes back to the induction portal link and logs in with the username and password from their SMS. Here they now see four steps before them, 3 of them dimmed out and step one is clickable. The inductee clicks step one and reads through the induction content which mostly covers the organisation and what is involved with working there, rules and policies. Upon completing this step they are taken to step 2 which has an online presentation they click through.
The presentation covers content that is site specific to the areas the new employee will be working in. Upon completion of step 2, the inductee is taken to step 3 where they read through the checklist of items and check each one they feel they understand. In this case the inductee has checked all the items and this takes them to step 4 which is an online course of multiple choice questions. These questions are all covering items from the content in the presentation and the new employee answers them easily. Upon completion of step 4, the new employee is taken to a screen that confirms their completion of the Online Induction and that an email confirming their completion has just been sent to their mailbox.
